Projects we like
Here are some ideas that we at “We Are You” love. We have personally been inspired and uplifted by these videos and other projects. We would love to implement some of these are our own live events.
All that we share: a Danish ad that shows how much people actually have in common with each other. “We live in a time where we quickly put people in boxes. Maybe we have more in common than what we think? Introducing All That We Share. The English version.” (warning: this made some of us cry, but in a good way.) https://youtu.be/jD8tjhVO1Tc
Here is a video called “Meet a Muslim.” It counteracts a lot of misconceptions people have about Muslims. And it’s kind of funny at times. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9dwHYu_EK4
This photography project met with homeless people. “San Francisco-based photographer Horia Manolache connected with homeless people, learned their stories, and shot two portraits of each of them: the first shows them as they are now, and the second portrait shows them in the life or career they had once dreamed about.” https://petapixel.com/2016/08/19/portraits-homeless-people-dreams-old/?platform=hootsuite
The Museum of the Person is a project specifically focused on sharing the stories of people with disabilities. You can learn more about that here: http://www.museumoftheperson.org/
