Working with IU Hillel to fight bigotry

Jenn from We Are You attended IU Hillel’s callout meeting for a new group they are starting to combat bigotry. We discussed what kind of action could be taken campus wide to address the increase in negative attitudes toward people who just happen to be “different.” They decided to focus on civility, and have a large event where participants could all take a civility pledge to be kind to one another, and be accepting of people from all different backgrounds. They are looking at holding an event in mid-April, and We Are You is going to try to participate in this event. They were also very excited to hear about our plans for live events with “Speed Interactions” so that people can get to know others with different perspectives.
